Meteora is a UNESCO world heritage site consisting of six working monasteries perched precariously on surrounding mountain tops. We’ll visit the monasteries in the morning. After lunch there is the option of a winery tour or you can relax in town. We’ll head back up the mountain later to capture some spectacular sunset shots

Day 5 Nafplion

A day to take in the sights of the former capital Nafplion, including the old town quarter. Options include climbing the 999 steps to the Palamidis fortress, completing the peninsula walk (if you’re lucky you’ll hear the monks chanting), having a swim on the back bay or for those who enjoy a tipple there is a visit a local ouzo factory.

Day 7 Nafplion

A  day to take in the sights and enjoy more of Nafplion. Those interested can be dropped off at the nearby seaside village of Tolo for a swim. If you havent had your fix of history the historical ruins of Mycenae are also nearby. Why not catch the ferry boat out to the little church in the harbour or just sit in one of the cafes in the square or on the waterfront and watch the world go by. The choices are yours!

Day 9 Hydra

A  day trip to the unique island of Hydra is on todays itinerary. The short 30 minute ferry ride uncovers a unique Greece where cars are not allowed and donkeys are a key means of transportation. The adventurous can enjoy a trek, climb the backstreets for stunning views or swim at one of the many bays. Shoppers will not be disappointed.

Day 11 Poros – Santorini

We’ll depart today from Poros stopping at the seaside spa town of Methoni for a quick dip in the ocean mineral waters before heading to Athens airport for our one hour flight to Santorini. Once checked in we’ll head into Fira for your first glimpse of one of the worlds most iconic sunsets

Day 13 Santorini

Today you’re free to explore Fira and Oia at your leisure. Its the perfect time to catch up on some shopping, view the island from the Caldera, relax at Black Beach, visit a winery or spend more time drinking in the breathtaking views of one of the worlds most iconic spots

Day 2 Athens – Meteora

We start the day with a visit to the Acropolis, one of the
most iconic sights in the world. At 11am we will see the weekly Changing of the Guard parade at Syntagma Square. After a quick bite to eat we grab our transportation before heading to Meteora.

Day 4 Meteora – Nafplion

One of our few days of longer travel. On our
way, we will visit the Corinth Canal. Finally
completed in 1893 this engineering masterpiece connects the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean
Sea. We may even get the chance to watch a boat go through! Tonight we arrive in Nafplion

Day 6 Nafplion (Optional Day trip to Olympia)

Visit the birthplace of the Olympics over 2000 years ago and where the Olympic torch is lit every four years. See the remains of temples and buildings and see many of the uncovered findings at the archaeological museum on site. We’ll journey via the village of Lagkadia

Day 8 Nafplion – Poros

Today we take the short journey to our next stay, the island of Poros. Our journey takes in the ruins of Epidavros with its famed amphitheatre which is still used for concerts today, check out the acoustics first hand if you enjoy a sing! The drive to Poros is especially beautiful winding its way around the Greek coast. We will arrive at our accommodation early afternoon and can relax with drinks from our balcony

Day 10 Poros

Explore Poros with its shops, cafes and bars or grab a bicycle if you’re feeling energetic and explore the mainland side. Activities such as sailing and horseriding can be arranged. Sunworshippers can be dropped at one of the many swimming spots. The brave can try out Greek dancing with the less brave watching on!

Day 12 Santorini

Time to explore Santorini in more detail. Keen walkers will be up early for the magnificent caldera walk from Fira to Oia. Those preferring a more gentle pace can meet up that evening at our special sunset bar location well away from the hoards of photographers watching on from nearby.

Day 14 Santorini

"Hands down the best tour we've ever been on"

“We read about your trip last year and decided we wanted to see not just the hotspots but the real Greece.

We loved the flexibility to do what we wanted throughout this well organised tour and felt a small group would be best for this, which it was.

Why organize this trip ourselves when it can be all done for us?”

Stephen and Rachel Butler, Timaru, New Zealand

"We would recommend this tour at the drop of a hat!"

“Having travelled on our own for a while pre-tour it was great to meet up with some like minded travellers whose fun and company we really enjoyed. We loved the flexibility of doing the things we wanted and having free time as we wished. After two months of travel on our own it was great to have everything all organised for us. Tony and Leanne really complemented each other as hosts.”

Brian and Penny Davidson, French Farm, New Zealand

"A trip we won't forget"

“When the chance came up to tour with Tony and Leanne we knew if we didn’t book it we’d never go ourselves. We have had very little experience travelling before and would never have contemplated going on our own yet knew a large group wasn’t the answer.

This provided the perfect environment of small group personalisation with some wonderful highlights we will never forget“

Wade and Andrea Wicks, Gold Coast, Australia

"We've made wonderful friends for life"

“This tour was great for us after three weeks of travelling by ourselves. Tony and Leanne took away all the stress and worry of having to organise anything.

The flexibility was great, if we didn’t want to do something Leanne and Tony would organise other alternatives or we could just relax at our accomodation instead, and after being on a larger bus previously the small group was so much easier to manage. Everything was made so simple”

Ian and Sharon Moore, Ashburton, New Zealand
